Kids with food allergies risk falling short on nutrient intake as well as height and weight

We do a disservice to food allergy kids when we don’t help them maintain nutrient intake and closely track height/weight milestones as they eliminate important food groups.⁣
⁣
In a recent study, kids with cow’s milk allergy (who therefore avoided dairy) were compared with non-allergic peers. Intake of essential nutrients vitamin B1, folate, vitamin C and calcium were lower in kids with milk allergy. Average weight and height tracked lower too.⁣
