I provide clinical nutrition counseling services for immune health. My education and clinical experience in functional nutrition mean that I lean into the scientific world of systems biology, where the mechanisms of disease and the natural interventions at our disposal (foods, nutrients, botanicals, and other environmental inputs) intersect. You can read more about functional medicine* nutrition here.

What to Expect When Working With Me
Supporting optimal health through nutrition and lifestyle interventions can be very beneficial. But it takes time. It is not a quick fix solution and certainly does not act as quickly as medications do. It also often requires making long-term dietary and lifestyle changes, and/or adhering to supplement protocols. Nutrition-related laboratory tests that may be recommended are not always covered by insurance. However, for those that are prepared for those changes and hurdles, it does offer a way to work on true underlying problems and support better biochemical balance, in a way that may promote health over the long run.
My training in functional medicine* nutrition means that my sessions might be longer than you’re used to in other healthcare settings. That’s so that we can really gather the right information to help us uncover potential biological imbalances, and the dietary and lifestyle inputs that are creating them, to unlock the right path for you to support optimal health and resilience.
Since each body is different, not everyone responds to the same intervention in the same way. While functional medicine* nutrition can be good at predicting what will be helpful and what won’t, there is some discovery and iteration involved that means there may be adjustments along the way to find out what works best for you. Even an elimination diet, in whichever form is indicated, is an exploratory tool – providing essential information to help shape a maintenance plan for you that is both effective in supporting your health goals, but also least restrictive.
Here is a typical consultation flow for those that start working with me (although there’s always room for adjustment as needed):
Initial consultation – Getting to Know You and Your Health History
In our initial session together, we will take a deep look at your health history, timeline, past dietary experiences, lifestyle habits and exposures, and more. This allows us to uncover potential underlying imbalances that may be contributing to your current health status, and to understand what has worked for you in the past and what hasn’t.
Prior to the initial session there are intake forms and waivers to complete as well as a 3-day food and symptom journal. We will also review past nutrition-related labwork and determine if any other nutrition-related lab work is recommended. Minimal (if any) dietary, supplement and/or lifestyle recommendations are made at the initial consultation.
Initial consultations are 50 minutes.
Second consultation – Lab Review and Plan
At your second visit, we will review any new nutrition-relevant laboratory findings and go over your initial plan, including dietary, supplement, and lifestyle recommendations. We’ll talk through the rationale for those recommendations, as much as you would like to dive into. And we’ll also review any obstacles that might stand in the way of you being able to implement them, adjusting as necessary to come up with a final plan version that works for you to get started on.
Second consultations are 50 minutes, and typically between 1 – 6 weeks after your initial consultation, depending on the time it takes to source and complete any recommended lab work and receive the results.
Third Consultation – 2-Week Check-in and Troubleshooting
We will check in together around two weeks after you’ve started implementing your plan. Once you are underway with taking steps to improve your health, it is important that we check in together to ensure things are headed in the right direction. Since everyone is unique in their response, recommendations sometimes need to be tweaked or troubleshot.
It’s often too early at this stage to see symptom improvements, but not always.
Third consultations are booked for 20 minutes.
Fourth Consultation – Two Months Into Your Plan
If your plan has included a trial elimination of any foods, we will meet at 2 months into your plan to review the correct process for challenging and reintroducing those foods.
Fourth consultations are booked for 50 minutes.
Fourth/Fifth Consultation – Three Months Into Your Plan
At this stage, it’s time to take stock of where we are against your health goals. Depending on progress, we transition either to a maintenance support plan with less frequent touchpoints, or we embark on phase two if it has been necessary to structure a multi-phase plan (usually only for more complex health situations). At this stage it is also typical to recheck lab work and conduct a Nutrient Intake Analysis, to ensure that any long-term adjustments to your diet are adequately meeting your nutritional needs.
Fifth consultations are booked for 50 minutes.
Subsequent consultations
Subsequent consultations are recommended according to your needs. Any long-term dietary supplement use or dietary restriction should be monitored by a qualified professional.
