There’s something missing from most formula milk…

Human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs) are the third most abundant solid component in human milk. Over 200 different HMOs have so far been identified, and their effects are important. HMOs benefits include:⁣
– Antimicrobial activity against harmful pathogens⁣
– Immune modulation and development⁣
– Intestinal cell protection⁣
– Act as prebiotics for helpful bacteria⁣
– Affect neurodevelopment and cognition⁣
⁣
So far, two HMOs have been approved for use in infant formula: 2′-fucosyllactose and lacto-N-neotretraose. Of course, we know that “breast is best”, but if you need to use formula look for one with those HMOs. No Mom guilt – sometimes you have to do what you have to do.⁣
